I have some unknown to me (previous owner) brand of primer. I am getting ready to do some bondo work.
Does it matter what kind of primer I use over the bondo?

Thanks

It's probably most important to use a primer that is made for what is around the bondo, e.g. metal or plastic or fiberglass. If I assume correctly that you are using bondo on metal, just make sure that the primer claims it is made for use on metal. Do you find this valuable?

I'd also suggest using a primer made by the same manufacturer as the topcoat (e.g., Rustoleum). An issue would come into play if the Primer were Acrylic based while the Top Coat were Oil based.
