question about lacquer

hi i recently stumbled apon pearl by powder it says mix with any clear so i bought lacquer,now im not sure what kind of paint to buy, and no, im not useing the traditional auto paint , it is way to expencive, any suggestions? and i also would like to tell you about a volvo i had bought from an auction , the pasenger side was demolished, well me being a stay at home girlfreind with no money and to much time , decided to do the body work myself myboyfreind made me a dent puller and showed me how to use it, after a lot holes and reconstucting the lines and curves i was ready for bondo, i ran out of my first can just befor i considerd finished, so looked around and found some dried up wood putty i added the oil off the top of some enamle i had sittin around, aplied it and sanded, after awile it got so glossy it was bueatifull (spot in the middle of a door, latter my boyfreind bought me some more bondo , i tried to remove the wood putty and it would not budge not by hammer or chizle so i left it, now i mind this is my first attempt at body work it was not proffesional looking but it was amasing considering the shape it was in,.. email me and ill send you a picture of the firebird im working on now sleepyblueyes@aol.com
